The application process is not finalised until payment of the applicable fee is received and the information is reviewed. The alcohol licensing administrator will make contact as soon as possible to follow up with payment and if there is further information required.

  • If your application is made within 20 workings days of the event the reason must be provided and must not have been forseeable in order for the application to be processed. Processing days are established by the Act and must be provided for when making application to ensure all reporting agencies have time to inquire into the applications adequately.

  • Any event that may be opposed would be required to be decided on following a public hearing which requires further time other than the 20 working days for processing. By providing full and accurate information in your application will help prevent any further delays.

Event size definitions

  • Large event means more than 400 people will be attending the event.
  • Medium event means between 100 and 400 people will be attending the event.
  • Small event means fewer than 100 people will be attending the event.
